Proximal femoral fracture classification:

1. Femoral fractures: Simple femoral fractures are relatively rare, which often be part of the hip injury, often associated with hip dislocation or fracture of the acetabulum.

2. Femoral neck fracture: the fracture between femoral head down to the base of the femoral neck. Common in elders especially in old women(osteoporosis).

3. Intertrochanteric fracture: Common in the elderly, which is a part of the joint capsule fractures. Few nonunion or avascular necrosis.

4. Subtrochanteric fractures: The fracture occurred between the femoral isthmus to the lesser trochanter, accounting of all hip fractures from 10 to 30%.
